Miyajima

On our second day in Hiroshima, Fiona and I decided to take a trip to Miyajima- an island about an hour away that has one of the most photographed spots in Japan. In the beautiful shining sun, we could certainly see why- the red tori gate was gorgeous against the blue sea backdrop.

Miyajima is not only famous for its tori gate but also for its wooden spoons. This is the largest wooden spoon in the world.
