Murder Mystery

For Kelly's birthday on Friday night, we did a Murder Mystery party. Aimee ended up being the murderer. I played "Tiny Bubbles", a prude debutant.

Harpoon Brewery Tour

On Saturday, Kelly, Katie, Louie, Matt, Thad and I went to the Harpoon Brewery Tour. The word "tour" is misleading because it was really just a short shpeel in front of the brewery machinery and then a long period of tasting. I am not against drinking at noon though! And I particularly enjoyed the "Apple Pie" which was half apple cidar half Winter Warmer. I highly recommend it.

New Year's Eve

My high school girlfriends and I have a New Year's Eve tradition- we always spend it together. We have since we were about 13 years old. This year we rented a room in Hartford and enjoyed the pool, relaxed and then went to the fireworks in downtown Hartford. Though we missed the sixth of our sextet (Juliet), we still had a real nice time.

I always try to get creative with the night mode on my camera but it doesn't usually work out so well for me.

Tim and Sara come to visit!

Our friends, Tim and Sara, flew in from San Francisco for the holidays and Matt and I were able to catch up with them on Thursday night. I was so great to see them- we miss them so much!!! And we got to see Sara's blinding diamond. They just got engaged so we are looking forward to their wedding in 2009.

Christmas

I had a lovely Christmas in Connecticut with my Dad and step family.

Christmas tree and lots of presents!

On Christmas Eve (and Christmas night for that matter), we played a game called Apples to Apples. I was surprised that I got everyone (except Jackie, who was at a friend's house) to play and everyone actually really seemed to enjoy it.... the wine that we drank while playing might have helped a little.

Cindy is looking very thoughtful.... apparently it worked well for her because I think she won!

A lil holiday cheer

I took a break from studying on Saturday night to attend a little holiday get together at Matt and his housemates' apartment. One of my best friends from high school, Kelly, moved in with them last weekend. So worlds are colliding... but in a very nice way :)

I made our family's traditional Christmas Eve food- Canadian tourtiere (pork pie).

One down, two to go.

For those who are wondering, I am finished with Civil Procedure. It was a long hard 4 hour test. In the end, I wrote ten pages (double spaced, 10 point font) and I still feel like I could have written more (all of the sample exam answers were upwards of 15 to 20 pages). I feel a little bit beaten by the test but at least it is over.

Property on Monday and Torts on Wednesday.... and then I will be able to say that I survived my first semester of law school :)

Finals

My very first law school final is tomorrow. I am nervous and scared and maybe even a little excited. It seemed like a momentous occasion fit for a blog post. I'll apologize in advance for the boring pictures but they were all taken from the vantage point of my bed... and really life hasn't been all that exciting recently, what with studying and all.

My little Christmas tree

The Bible, aka The Federal Rules of Civil Procedure. Ask me anything. Rule 35? Mental and physical examinations! Personal jurisdiction? Power and Consent! Rule 11? SANCTIONS!! Oh yeah... don't try to stop me or I will 12(b)(6) you! [dismiss for failure to state a claim upon which relief can be granted].... errr these jokes are more funny with people who are in law school. It's actually probably not funny at all to most of my readers... sorry!

I tabbed my book for easy access.

AND YOU ALL WONDER WHY I DON'T POST MORE???

Some law photos

I do have some fun in raw school too. We had a potluck a few weeks ago.

It was Nora's birthday

This is how Kerry and I feel when some people in class start talking.

Poor Mariah had no idea what Erin was doing.

Pretty Leaves Pretty Fireworks

The Autumn leaves really have been lovely this year!

On Thanksgiving Saturday in Simsbury, the town sets of fireworks and they were pretty impressive. I went with Juliet and Kelly, who are pictures here as blurs.

What I have been up to....

Faithful blog readers have noticed that I have not posted recently. Truthfully, I haven't done too too much of importance- it is getting to the end of the semester and I spend a lot of time in my room studying and in the library studying. But I have been fortunate enough to see a lot of good friends during the month of October. And I went home for Thanksgiving and it was nice to see my Dad and stepfamily.

Nicole came up for the weekend and we went to Jake Ivory's!
