Hanami with Camie from Miami... and others
Well. I tried to do hanami "flower viewing" on Saturday but darkness and loud music does not lend itself to sitting under cherry trees and pondering the delicateness of life. So on Tuesday, we tried again! A bunch of us headed to Ueno Park to sit on a blanket, drink sake, write haikus and ponder life. We didn't do any of the last three things but we did enjoy the lovely evening weather and look at the delicate pink blossoms.... and listen to drunken parties of Japanese people singing and carrying on. The group next to us was obviously an office party and they took turns getting up from the circle and performing a song (off key) and dance (off balance).

People lay out large blue tarps to sit on.
