Pretty Leaves Pretty Fireworks

The Autumn leaves really have been lovely this year!

On Thanksgiving Saturday in Simsbury, the town sets of fireworks and they were pretty impressive. I went with Juliet and Kelly, who are pictures here as blurs.

What I have been up to....

Faithful blog readers have noticed that I have not posted recently. Truthfully, I haven't done too too much of importance- it is getting to the end of the semester and I spend a lot of time in my room studying and in the library studying. But I have been fortunate enough to see a lot of good friends during the month of October. And I went home for Thanksgiving and it was nice to see my Dad and stepfamily.

Halloween

Last weekend I went to a Halloween Party. I was a butterfly complete with wings, antennae and bright orange tights (tragic that I did not get any full length shots because they really did complete the outfit). This year's costumes were far superior to the ones I saw last year. In Japan, apparently dressing in green and calling yourself a Christmas tree is good enough to win Best Costume. Not this year, my friends!

Eric was a chick magnet... and apparently it worked!

My dollar store wings were so cool.

Matt was Dr. Acula (from Scrubs)

Thad was some guy from the Office. I didn't really get it. Michelle was a chick (Eric's chick, to be exact).

Weekend in New York City!

This weekend, my best friends from high school and I gathered in New York City for a little reunion! It was a quick weekend- barely 24 hours but lots of fun!

Golf

It was a lovely Fall day today so Matt and I went to the driving range for a bit before I headed to the library for the rest of the day.

Matt can actually hit the ball

I try very hard....

But I usually fail... nice follow through, eh? Notice how the ball is still on the ground.

At least I look cool doing it!

We ended the weekend with a good hearty Japanese dinner- okonomiyaki, yakisoba and carrot and daikon salad!

A Japan weekend!

This weekend was a Japanese inspired weekend- sushi for dinner on Friday and then Matt and I went to a Boston JET Alumni dinner on Saturday night. There were lots of people who had just returned from Japan and lots of people who have been back for a while. It was fun to chat about Japan, eat yakisoba and have some Sapporo beer.

Homecoming!

I am a huge Tufts dork. Everyone knows it. So Tufts Homecoming is like a holiday for me. My friends and I had a tailgating spot and we BBQed and hung out with friends. The weather was great- mid 80s and sunny.

Thad decided to squirt the fireman with a water gun. Not a good idea because he fired back with the BIG water gun!

No matter how hard Thad ran, he could not get out of the line of the water. Good thing it was a sunny day because he got soaked!

Beef, its what's for dinner!

BBQ for dinner right before Jane left. It was a whole lot o' meat!

Franklin Park Zoo

On Sunday, Jane and I decided to head off to the Franklin Park Zoo. The zoo itself is not the most amazing place that I have ever been to but we really enjoyed walking around and enjoying the sunshine.

Cheers!!

Jane, Matt and I headed over to the original Bullfinch Tavern which was the inspiration for the television, Cheers. And the outside of the bar was used in the show! We had some delicious burgers and, of course, delicious Sam Adams beer.

On the way to Cheers, we stopped for a picture next to Boston Common.

and we stopped at the Church of Christian Science on our way home which is beautiful at night!

Duck tour!

We had to get the real tour of Boston and Matt, Jane and I went on a duck tour! Yes, folks, that is right- an amphibious vehicle, going on both land and in the water. We learned a lot of Boston history AND I got to drive the duck.
